Just so you won't have to try it yourself, using a 1:1 mixture of 5-min hardener and 15-minute hardener will not produce a good joint — or any joint at all, really. I was getting pretty annoyed that some Epoxy that was less that a year old had gone bad and wouldn't set at all. It's LHS branded, but I'm pretty sure it's actually Bob Smith, which is always quality stuff. After it didn't work the first time, I wiped off the parts, and tried again. Still didn't work. Then I realized I was mixing together two different hardeners. Doh!!

While the result is somewhat sticky, it's not really useful as glue...

Ran out of 15 min hardener not that long ago so I used my 5 min hardener and it worked great. Actually got about 7 or 8 mins of actual working time before it started to setup.

It was a rhetorical question suggesting that the 50/50 hardener mix may not be a total waste.

Usually for an epoxy system, the speed of the hardener sets the cure speed. West systems would be an example.
