I liked it and so did my wife. We attended a special sneak preview at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. I have no idea why they did a sneak preview at the base. Anyway, it was a good movie and it was free on top of that. If you liked JJ Abrams first Star Trek movie you will like this one too. It had a good villain, well, villians. The story was fast paced and it had lots of action. Lots of humor too. My biggest problem was that with nearly 900 people in the theater some of the dialouge got drowned out by laughter right after they did a joke.
I liked the new warp effect, but I didn't care for the new transporter effect.
