I have found a trick to unclog them, thanks to the internet. Remove nozzle, and hit it from the inside with canned air. I've also seen WD-40 used. That should force any dried/stuck particulates out of the nozzle. I also have a pack of "art" nozzles from another project I can swap in and out if necessary.

I just discovered that you can get new replacement nozzles, quite inexpensive. 60 of various sorts for $12:

I have a stack of those but the couple I tried had the same issue....that glitter is just brutal. It's double the size (or more) than traditional metal flake. I'd be curious to see what kind of erosion is going on inside that spray nozzle after a full can.
