Wow!! We must've had 350 to 400 people attending! Yet, I don't find
any launch reports in the search... :( Who was there? Report in!

The weather forecast was calling for poor conditions, but those that
braved to come out were rewarded with absolutely perfect conditions.
Very light breeze, 87 degrees and crystal blue skies!

On Saturday, I was assisting a UCF student team with their entry for the
Florida Space Grant G Hybrid competition.
https://floridaspacegrant.org/programs/hybrid-motor-rocket-competition/

They managed to get an impressive & successful flight of 1068' on a
Contrail G100 in a PML Ion.

A great accomplishment for a group of guys that had essentially zero
rocketry (much less hybrid) experience prior to this.

There were 7 teams from 5 different colleges competing & I haven't
heard the results yet...

After the UCF team flew, I attempted to fly my SkyRipper I147 in
a scratch built IQSY Tomahawk, but had to dump NO2 due to a bad
igniter. {grrrr - it was even a commercial one. I knew I should've used
one of my own...}

That attempt also consumed the last of the gas, so I switched to a
solid for Sunday's flight- a CTI H120 Red Lightning. Got just over
1200'.

Sunday brought in the winds and low ceiling that had originally been
predicted for Saturday, so most of the flights were under 2500. The day
was also cut short due to the weather.

Overall, a VERY SUCCESSFUL launch. One of the best half blasts NEFAR
has hosted. Can't wait for Bunnell Blast in November.
