I figured it's some kind of joke, but it's escaping my perception...
It was a reference to the 737 MAX debacle.

In the posting, just replace the words "clock" with "angle of attack", "astronaut" with "pilot" and change the meaning of MCAS to "Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System" and you're reasonable close to what Boeing did with the 737 MAX.
