This is the NARAM 2002 WINNING 7' TALL 1/12 SCALE MERCURY REDSTONE FLYING MODEL ROCKET built and flown by John Pursley to win the Sport Scale Team Division at the 2002 NARAM National Rocketry Competition.

It is a museum quality model 7 feet tall with a diameter of 6 inches and weighs under 3 lbs. in flight configuration. It is built from a number of materials including cast urethane, fiberglass, 1/64" plywood, and other advanced materials. It has every rivet, fastener, and plate that the real one had. See them in the pictures.

It is modeled after the Liberty Bell 7 mission vehicle flown by Gus Grissom.
