Not trying to re-invent the wheel here . . . just documenting my scratch modular baffle after being disappointed with the commercially available units. I build all my birds so I can remove and replace any part after damage or to just try other techniques or body/fin combinations. I use the BT60 format exclusively with C-6 motors.

A cheap one hole paper punch was all that was needed to get clean cut holes.
1) Punched 6 holes in a BT20 to BT60 centering ring.
2) Covered the center with scrap centering ring cardstock to create a socket for BT20 center tube.
3) Covered the blast face with high temp barbecue black paint (already had on hand)

4) Punched 6 offset holes in a length of BT20 tubing
5) Mounted center tube in blast base socket
6) Attached baffle body (BT60 coupler) to blast base
7) Attached baffle top plate to body and center tube
8) Trimmed excess center tubing to length

Oooo...I like this. I'm sure I'm jumping the gun, but how do you retain it and keep it removable?

(I'd wait for the next post, but we're all just sitting around waiting for the fat man to come so we can all go to bed.)

9) Mounted 2 cardstock "punch waste" disks to top of baffle for shock cord mounting reinforcement
10) Mounted zipperless shock cord
11) Used "Saran-Wrap-roll-insertion-tool" to insert or remove baffle
12) Secured baffle in "scale port locations" using #2 SMS

. . . and the finished project! One baffle for all my builds!

Not shown: 30" scratch built chute and removable motor mount

Enjoy!

Most of the parts came from the Estes 2056 Patriot kit ($9.00 at Hobby Lobby)

Nice build.
What color is the yella?
Were the launch lugs an after-thought?

No after-thoughts here . . .the Monokote was notched out to receive the lugs.

No launch pics of this build, just a test flight of the baffle and 30" chute on another configuration.
