Agreed, nothing but 3FNC and 4FNC, over and over. Even in (A)D&D, people say LG is boring, but LN is the real hum drum alignment. Nothing but Alphas and bureaucrats.

Lawful Neutral is so boring. Just a little naughtiness (upscale) yet nice and safe. Maybe like the maxi alpha?
No upscales on one's own. Once it's a kit released by Estes (e.g. the Maxi Alpha, in a bag with instructions and a face card) then it's OK. If the rocket gods wanted the Red Nova to be a two stage rocket, they would have made the kit that way.

So where does Fluxion fall on the scale? At its heart it’s a 3FNC, but greebles and air scoops abound and it lands on its feet. Maybe Neutral Good?

Just thinking about this some more... the Estes MIRV has to be somewhere in the right-hand column, no?
Flying a launch pad first stage only to ignite three purposely unstable sustainers. Named after world ending, apacolyptic weapons of mass destruction. Foamy construction that will melt if high quality model paint not used. No question. CHAOTIC EVIL, DEMON SEED ORIGIN. Probably a minon of Orcus.

The one LN character I played was a necromancer. He was a priest of a neutral death god. He couldn't be good to keep his class features, but I wanted to give him a moral code that forbade him from doing anything untoward to human bodies as he was the town undertaker and officiated funerals, but monster bodies were fair game for doing necromancer stuff. LN seemed appropriate.

AD&D was before my time, this was all in 3.5 and Pathfinder.

Since the widely spaced pods are not powered (evil) it is Chaotic Neutral due to excessive greebles and being a 3FNC poser, not good. Only pure and noble 3-4FNC make the grade.

Don't judge just by looks! In life he was a Jolly old Pict until the nasty Roman's came to town.

Possibly a good High Land Scotsman in there somewhere?
Like Casper the Ghost, nice, friendly undead?

Is that really a thing? I love it!
We had a club member do the exact same thing with cabbage. I saw nothing wrong with that.

Here are some ideas for more alignment charts I may do - or someone else could make:

- Just one Estes Catalog - I'm thinking one of the ones from the '80's would be good.
- HPR Rockets - kits
- HPR Rockets - scratch
- Odd rocs

etc

Where would Xmas trees fall on this chart? They are intended for the most charitable holiday of the year and yet they fly like crapola.

I have seen well designed ones that fly great. A big ornament with canted tractor motors and a base drag skirt, Chaotic Good

I have seen some with big safety fins and a super powerful motor down low. All wrong but at least some effort was made toward stability. Chaotic Neutral.

Here darlin, hold my beer, let's get some crash TV video. Chaotic Evil. Why despise high power oddrocs the Jedi do?... hummm...says Yoda.

Nature is neutral. Druids are neutral. Using lettuce for wadding is obviously true neutral.
The wonderful neutrality of Lettuce fits the environmental laws to a tee, therfore boosting the Neutral Good Interceptor E to a Lawful Good package. A Druid would never launch an Interceptor E, WAY TOO TINNY (as Monty Python would say.) Something much more WOODY required, like a Pyramid or critter oddroc.

Cetainly for oddrocs. No one expects the inquisition, but judging is so much fun!

Charts could be very useful to help with RSO discretion. Our club had dry weather rules banning sparkies, clusters, staged and funny looking rockets. This one was so bad (funny looking) that evoked dry weather standards to suddenly appear even on a green May morning.

My usual process was to bring such Chaotic Evil abominations at least one launch prior for RSO pre-approval, but there was a TRF contest and I had to get it in the air. So after the banning I took it to another club where I asked an experienced old dude to look at the MODEL ROCKET PORN I had in the trunk. Did it appeal to the prurient interests as defined by commity standards? That was the TEST under strict scrutiny. The strange thing was some other old dudes overheard my request and wanted to see the model rocket porn too! Very naughty.

Even though that abomination was in the XXX range it got to fly. Like Hannibal the Cannibal said to Agent Starling over the phone, he wasn't going to eat her because she made the world a more interesting place.

Paint schemes must also be examined. A Lawful Good 3FNC rocket can be downgraded, like the DRM with it's totenkopf, death tally and German cultural appropriation "slogan" decals. Nicht stompin and Mitt grabbin! A skull wearing a monicle and pickelhaube tend to chide 21st century sensibilities. At least down to Lawful Neutral!

Have you heard the sith legend of the Estes 36 D squared! Originally called the 36 Double D. That name did not make it. The two D cluster kit from Esteses with fins shaped like breasteses. Put an alignment on that one! Large, exposed mammaries? Down the chart it falls! Even Leo DiCaprio playing Howard Hughes can't help.

Chaotic or Evil High Power kits? Maybe I can can think of one... THEY are very strict on high power idiot factors for kits.

Lots of Chaotic or Evil High Power scratch builds, just turn on some crash TV! The lot are Oddrocs. Don't get me started on the triggering videos from South East Asia. My inner RSO would cry seeing those alignment charts. Even worse they wager on the flights! Neutral Evil?

Do commercial motors have Alignments too? Three seconds of Hell? That was a Devilish motor that basically involved a shredding contest. Lawful Evil!
Sparkies? Out of production motors? CATO prone Estes motors with bad dates? All need that Lawful Good certification seal.

Lots of Big 80's rockets like the gorgeous Manta Bomber are straight outta the Chaotic Good column.

Delicious cabbage rules! Although it can make one a bit on the gassy side. Still Neutral? :)
