Does the club have annual dues and where can you buy NAR insurance. I plan on coming up in the spring and would like all my ducks in a row.

Thanks.

Both NAR and Tripoli members are covered for liabilities assuming you are a current member of either org.

Assuming you are a current member of NAR, login here and have a look-see: https://www.nar.org/insurance/

It really depends on what you want to do with the hobby, and what organization has clubs in your area. For selfish reasons, I'd point you to NAR (since I'm the NAR Treasurer).
Do you plan to eventually make your own motors? Then Tripoli offers that.

You don't need any sort of certification for F15-4 motors, and you normally don't have to join either NAR or TRA to fly motors up to G impulse at a club launch. Reach out directly to the club hosting the launch you want to attend for their requirements.

There is also Fox Valley Rocketeers in Woodstock- https://www.foxvalleyrocketeers.org/

Just for clarification, at Tripoli launches in the U.S., either Tripoli or NAR members may fly. They are covered by the insurance provided by the organization they belong to. Adults must be a member of either Tripoli or NAR in order to fly rockets, even if they are only flying model rockets.

I joined NAR today and am waiting on my number. Thanks for the info.
