Since my laptop is still being reloaded, is it possible for someone to run a few sims for me in open rocket?
Rocket 1-loc mongoose 29mm
Rocket 2- loc Sandhawk

Fins are shaped and finish is smooth.

I Have a CTI H-410 looking to fit inside the mongoose. Projected altitude and speed.

Thank you in advance.

Is there a reason you can't load up OR and do it yourself?

Yes, im on my cell phone, not sure open rocket runs on android.. my laptop is getting a new ssd drive and won't be ready until next week.

Ah. Well, you are correct about not being able to do it on your cellphone; the Android port of OR is ancient and dead.

I don't have the info for the two rockets you mentioned, so I can't do it for you.

As a pretty good alternative, you can try entering your rockets in Thrustcurve.org. That'll give you a decent approximation.

Is that a Loc Weasel? I haven't heard of a Loc Mongoose.

I'm almost certain that I have an Openrocket model of the Weasel, and I could probably track down one of the sandhawk. If you post the measured weight and CG, I can run a few quick sims this morning.

I tried rocketreviews for the sim file but their website is down. I did find a sim file for the 1.6" Mongoose on this forum, so I used that to scale to 29mm.

Since I don't have any actual weights for the Mongoose, this sim is really just ballpark. Anyhoot here it is.

Alt: 7934 ft.
Max Velocity: Mach 1.27

Edit: Btw, it's a Madcow/Rocketry Warehouse CF rocket.

I will get the weights later on... many many thanks!!! With a cap of 4,500 thats probably gonna have to wait.. 🤣

Ooops,
I forgot to adjust wall thickness of the body tubes after scaling. Here is the corrected OR file.

Alt: 7947 ft.
Max Velocity: Mach 1.24

Thrustcurve gives 4900 ft for that rocket + motor. But am I using the right data? The OR file that Tobor posted is 1.25" diameter and 40" long... The LOC webpage lists 48" long and 1.6" diameter, with 29mm *mount*.

Hmmm, okay.
Loc Weasel, here we go....

Same possible errors as the other sims.

Alt: 5547 ft.
Max Velocity: Mach 0.99

To go supersonic and stay at a relatively low altitude, you're going to want a very lightweight rocket that's also pretty of draggy. The only motors that might get the Weasel supersonic have a lot more impulse than the H410, so they're going to fly even higher.

The weight is 13oz dry

Not sure what im going to run for electronics.
