I've been considering a few builds where if I was going to have electronics, I'd need a hatch for them. My problem is compounded not only with my inexperience with hatch-cutting in general, but also with fiberglass, as most of these builds are FG over cardboard/phenolic.
The cutting I can get --measure, mark, recheck, pointy-side down. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Do you typically cut the hatch prior to reinforcing the airframe with glass, then cut through the green glass around the hatch? Or would you let it all cure and cut the hatch after? Why?
Does the same rule-of-thumb apply with regards to vent holes in non-cylindrical av-bays, or do you typically go smaller, larger, multiple?
Thanks in advance...
