Still trying to get a handle on this one. The original nose cone was damaged in an underpowered flight, but once I replace that I plan to try again on a C6-3 or 5.
I built and flew this model about 45 years ago on a C-motor. It does not get very high. Use the 3-second delay. It is a draggy model and will not get high enough for a 5-second delay.
I've flown this rocket twice now. First flight was NOT stable. I actually overbuilt it a little using basswood instead of balsa. That may have been a mistake but I added probably double the nose weight and on this first flight, I added an Altimeter as well. First flight was on a C6-3.
My first unstable rocket. It sustained very little damage though and I easily fixed it.
I fixed the damage and made a six inch extension for BT-60 main tube. I hoped it would be enough. Launched it again with a C6-3 and an altimeter. This time the flight went very well and reached 137 feet. I didn't get an accurate reading on the first flight but guess it was less than half that. The glider flew great. Both glider and the booster landed within feet of the launch pad.
