Since The weather is no good for painting it was time for another build. I,ve had my eye on the Sirius eradicator but since I am also eyeing a couple other kits I decided it would be a good candidate for a shrunk down version. I tried doing the design open rocket but it doesn't seem to be capable of doing it(at least not with me at the mouse) so I was gonna have to just jump in. I borrowed parts from another kit.20150317_131551.jpghere is the tube with a section removed. It will be used to make the two rings at the fin section,20150317_125545.jpgI didn't have a spare tube for the bottom section so I stole one from the saran wrap(don't tell the wife) our dog levi says "thank you for the big ball of plastic wrap"
20150317_184726.jpgThe centering rings were made on my taig.20150317_192932.jpgHere is the lower section with centering rings installed. The tube is quite heavy duty which is good because it's kinda the backbone of this design. I will be using a 24mm mmt so there should be plenty of good choices for powering it.20150317_190430.jpgHere are the two halves trial fitted together. The overall length will be around 26". I may adjust the ratio of the two sections a touch but not sure at this point.
More to follow soon!!

A bit more done. I went back and played with the software some more. Managed to get a design very close to what im after.openrocket.jpgopenrocketsim.jpg
20150318_104555.jpgstarting the baffle. The inner tube is 1/4" shorter than the outer tube.20150318_105053.jpgThe spare section of tube was used to line up the ends for gluing. 20150318_105136.jpgIt was then removed before the glue dried to avoid gluing it to the baffle.20150318_135412.jpgHere it is glued to the lower section of the main body.

20150321_122423.jpgThe strakes and rings have been added.20150321_164153.jpgand the fins.I bit messier than I would have liked but hopefully it will clean up ok.20150321_192023.jpg
And a shot from the bottom.
