This is my Edmonds Aerospace Ecee Thunder R/C conversion. Four successful flights today. I think I finally have it flying reliably.

With the extra weight of R/C gear and Ecee's 1/4" solid wood construction, D12's give too little altitude, and D11s hardly make it go at all. With Ds I can only land straight ahead. E9s give just enough altitude to recover and complete a pattern. E15 gives enough altitude to complete two whole circuits before landing! My blenderm tape hinges may need reinforcement though for the higher speeds on this motor.

My CG is 1" ahead of the manufacturer's recommendation. With stock CG, the model just mushes down with almost no forward speed or goes into a lazy, slow flat spin. The model is very draggy and penetrates poorly. It bleeds altitude and airspeed rapidly. It lands pretty slow though.

Now that I have it flying reliably, I'm not sure how much more I'm going to fly it. The flights are short and kind of uneventful--bordering on boring :=)

I found a way to make the Ecee interesting again. CTI F30 longburn!
