I'm discovering dual deployment recovery with the Apogee Katana Jr. using an Entacore AIM USB 4 altimeter to fire the DIY black powder charges for ejection.
Do these charges, once assembled, just dangle from their leads threaded through the E bay bulkhead?
Dumb question?

Mine don't. Use charge wells and have them contained on the top and bottom of the av-bay. I tried the dangly way, but it blew a hole in the side of my body tube so I just do it this way all the time now.

On smaller rockets I just let the charges dangle but have the ematch wire wrapped around the eyescrew as a strain release.
Some are short, 3" long wire. Others may have a 10" wire to the ematch.
Both work well without any deployment issues.

Of course on larger rockets (2" and up) I put charge wells on the ebay bulkhead. One reason is to get a larger BP charge.
