I use the EMRR Shroud Calculator a lot for scratch building models, mostly =scale= stuff.

The EMRR Shroud Calculator...BTW, here it is...

https://www.rocketreviews.com/tool_shroud.shtml

anyway...it gives you results in like...7 or 8 decimal places.

I transfer those results into CAD and can do some pretty accurate drawings but, here is the problem.

I've never gotten accurate results on the first try.

It always takes a minimum of 4 or 5 trys with different results almost every time.

I always eventually get it right but NEVER on the first attempt.

Does anyone else ever notice this?

My javascript was once busted, so I got into the habit of using DJ Delorie's
transition generator- https://www.delorie.com/rockets/transitions.html

The numbers you want for CAD are on the resulting PDF.

I just tried both and compared the results- both the same, but DJ's had
more realistic significant digits.

Are you inputing the same units (inches vs. mm) for all values?

Yes, but my problems aren't large...I usually get a variation in say 1/100th of an inch or maybe a tenth of a degree is all.

I eventually get it right. It just seems inconsistant to me.

Just to make sure I understand, are we speaking of the little strings that come off the chute?

;) Shroud templates for makeing cones not shroud lines for parachutes ,shroud of turin, futtock shroud or sailboat shroud

I call them paper transitions but nobody make a "Paper Transition Calculator".

Thanks for clearing that up cause I was starting to worry about you folks......

I keep trying to calculate the Shroud of Turin, but I keep getting the T-shirt of Toledo for a result.
