For 38mm DMS motors
1/4" Pipe Tap

"F" drill bit

For 54mm DMS motors.
3/8" pipe Tap

Awesome approach Tony! It looks like you just solved a problem on my latest project.
Based on your experience, do you think this would be an adequate shock cord mount on a 38mm minimum diameter (thus fairly light) project?

Does this bolt through a bulkhead or will only the motor ejection well take the recovery forces?

I do something similar with the commercially-purchased thread adapters for CTI 54mm motors. Works well but I have a bulkhead to take both motor and recovery forces.

I'm considering using a 54mm DMS motor in a minimum diamter-type situation. It's for a competition that doesn't allow experimental motors-- does modifying the charge well on a DMS this way make it experimental?
