I got a letter too.
Thankfully, it appears there was no harm.
I will be keeping an eye on my credit report just the same.
I work for the KS Dept of Revenue as a programmer. I work with this kind of imformation on a daily basis. We would NEVER consider allowing that information to be taken ANYWHERE. That is an invitation to disaster. No one can do sensitive work from home. That is just the way it is.
Looks like the VA needs to get rid of a lot of managers, not the analyst who, it would appear, had permission to work on the data at home.
