Thieving bastards... Usually it's a hobby outsider that steals things...the rocketry folks by far are very honest people...there are the occasional bad apples though.

However, I just finished building my entry back into rocketry - a 38mm PML Explorer I got from my wife and kids for my 40th birthday last month. I still have to paint it, but I'm hoping Santa will bring me an RMS case with closures for Christmas.

I don't expect to have nearly the inventory Fore Check has in 8 months, but I'm hopeful I'll have at least a few, especially since I'm buying an Initiator and a Big Daddy from a fellow Quarker who's cleaning out some of his MPR stash.

Chris

Well, Santa came and left me a beautiful Rouse Tech MM 29/40-120. I'll be shopping for a 29/180 once we get a few post-Christmas returns taken care of!

Happy New Year everyone!

Chris

Its been a few months and i think its time for everyone to do a bit of updating!!!!

I have since got a Dr. Rocket 38/600 but nothing else yet. As of right now, the 29/120 and 29/360 are on my next to get list and then eventually a 38/1080 so I can fly the J825R.:D

I bought the 38/600 used from a guy on Rocketry Planet who was doing a little spring cleaning for $48 including shipping and have since used it once myself.

I used to have a 1, 2, and 3 grain CTI casings but sold them on ROL as I thought the loads were just a tad pricey and I prefer AT anyway.

Added an AT 38/360. My Expediter is begging for an I357...

I'm thinking next year I might venture into the world of 38mm animals...

congrats :) same as my first! Now order two 3 set deals from Whats Up Hobbies and your all set to fly Deuce's ;) :D

Got my first two and got all sorts of UUUS and Ahhhhs.

29/40-120 Aerotech,
24/40 Aerotech.

That was my first HPR casing, very versitle case, great choice! I have flown the I357 but visually its a bit weak, the I161 and I218R (pretty sure but not positive on the designation of the redline load) are awesome. There is also a black jack H load I believe and I havent flown one but they recently made a warp 9 for the casing.

Added the new Gorilla Motors 1050 hardware to my growing collection.

I think that's the H999 W9 reload.

And I added a AMW 38/390 to my collection. Going to fly some baby skids.:D

Not my first HPR casing, but most recent. I'm pretty sure the Expediter will see at least one other load (either white or red) from this casing some time this season. Should be fun!

Dare I say that My "family" has grown again?

Now add the 38/1080 and another 38/600 for cases, two seal discs, and another set of closures (standard open forward and aft in 38mm). The latest hardware is Rouse Tech.

What are seal disks for:confused:

In some reloads (the H210R and H220T for the 29/240 case, both loads for the 29/360 case, and all the loads for the 38mm cases in the 38/480 and larger) use a metal (aluminum) seal disc at the top of the propellant grains. This seal disc uses a disposable o-ring that seats in a groove on the disc, and then the disc seats in the top of the grain liner. In the reloads that I have flown using a seal disc, the grain liner is a hard, black phenolic liner (rather than the kraft paper liner tube in other loads.

I suppose the need for the seal disc is due to the combustion pressure during thrust. As a note, the seal disc more-or-less replaces the fiber washer that normally sits on top of the propellant liner (below the delay assembly in the forward closure) in other loads.

In the picture above, there are three 38mm seal discs on the bench (black, aluminum, black) on the bench in front of the 38/720 and 38/600 cases shown.

Ok so they are in bigger motors I see.:)

I am going to stay in lower power for a little while due to the fact that I am 1.5 years away from a Jr. level one.  Thank you for clearing this up for me.
