Leave the ejection charge out and leave the delay grain alone. The delay grain provides tracking smoke.
Even on an RMS motor you don’t remove the delay grain. It seals the front end of the motor.
correct. i dont use the delay charge much anymore. I was just curious if i could remove the delay grain.

It’s not possible on a DMS motor and removing the delay grain from an RMS motor typically destroys the rocket with fire shooting out both ends of the motor. The delay grain seals and protects the forward closure until the grain is fully used up. If you shorten it too much it allows the hot gases to jet forward.
Why would you want to remove it?
