My Black Brant II Downscale is coming along nicely. With a couple of mods.

Why not use the Estes Black Brant III nose cone? It's hardly a Black Brant without the cone.

Or spend a little time on the "paper rocket" threads and roll your own.

And don't forget the ground plane whiskers.

Like I said, a few mods. The goal is to get as close as I can with what I have on hand. I also added a payload bay for the altimeter. Still sourcing the whiskers. The biggest challenge will be the paint scheme

Looks like the old Helio-copter! I have one of those built, I just left off the old vintage 'copter parts.

Use monofilament. I've done that on some scratch Jayhawks.

consider styrene rods for your whiskers. Can get it at Hobby Lobby or local hobby shop. If it needs to be really small diameter, go with wire-either stainless, brass, or piano wire. Hobbytown USA has a display of various wires.
