My latest sled, just completed. This is for my MAC Performance Rocketry 4" BlackFly, which utilizes the HED design. Under "normal" requirements this is an easy sled. However, I wanted to fit the Loki 54-2800 hardware in the rocket without lengthening the original design. The only way to do this was to have the motor extending into what would be the AV bay. This AV bay is recessed 3.5", measured at the outside face of the aft bulkhead (red) to the edge of the coupler. The final clearance from the top of the motor to the outside of the aft bulkhead is about .25".
For electronics, the sled uses redundant AltusMetrum Easy Mini V2 altimeters with independent 850 mAh lipos switched using the FingerTech min screw switch. For tracking, I am using the AltusMetrum TeleGPS, again with an 850 mAh 2S lipo, switched using the FingerTech mini screw switch. All of which is mounted to a custom 3D printed sled designed using TinkerCAD and printed using white PETG on my Prusa MK3S.
For recovery I amusing dual MAC Performance Rocketry 2.5-gram deployment canisters, through bulkhead terminal blocks with the recovery harness mounted to dual SS U-bolts for apogee on the aft bulkhead. For main (blue bulkhead) I am using the Tinder Rocketry Peregrin CO2 system with redundant e-matches connected to through bulkhead terminal blocks, and again the recovery harness is mounted to dual SS U-bolts.
Obviously, this could have been done in a much simpler configuration but where is the fun in that.
