Hi, I hope everyone is well. We want to use ARRD in our rocket. But there is a point we don't understand in a working mechanism. Before we buy it, we need to understand the system. The key point is the connection. How it is connected to the body. What is the function of ball bearing? Is it just a bearing or it has a function of connection? How is it released with powder? if it releases with the shock of powder, how it doesn't release the shock of a parachute? and is there any technical draw?

This was a great device. Too bad it is no longer available. You can still find them for sale on occasion.

The capture balls hold the toggle in place. When the powder charge fires it moves the piston forward which allows the balls to disengage from the toggle. Releasing the toggle.

To break it down . The unit is bolted via 1/4-28 threads to a bulk plate. The ball bearings capture the pin much like a air chuck on a air hose. There is a piston under the pin that when the charge ignites , it releases the balls and the pin slides out. It's very simple once you see how it works.
