Thinking of getting some Aeropoxy. Couple of questions, though...

1. Which type do I get for filleting?
2. Which type for glassing fins/tubes?

Thanks

You could just get the standard laminating resin for both, and add a filler for filleting. Something like milled glass or collodial silica is a good strong filler that will thicken up the epoxy for filleting.

Adhesive Epoxy: Aeropoxy ES6279 https://www.ptm-w.com/dynamicdata/data/docs/aeropoxy es6279 bulletin.pdf

Laminating Epoxy Resin: Aeropoxy PR2032 with PH3660 (1 hour pot life) https://www.ptm-w.com/dynamicdata/data/docs/aeropoxy pr2032 bulletin.pdf

Using a laminating resin with fillers is not recommended to make structural joints or to make fillets.

For additional information contact PTM&W who is the manufacturer of the product: 562-946-4511 or 800-421-1518. They're good people and will accurately answer all your questions.

I will second the vote for the 6279 epoxy. It works very well for bonding dissimilar materials as they say in the application note. I've had good results bonding materials like G10 and PMLs Quantum tubing, which can be difficult to bond according to several threads here. I also have used it on non-rocket applications bonding various metals and plastics to eachother. The somewhat paste-like consistency is nice to work with too.

I'm just finishing up using a can of their 6209 epoxy. It works well too, but I prefer the shorter pot life and thicker consistency of the 6279.
