It's almost like someone posted those very same links earlier in the thread...Probably in the archives somewhere, but there was a build thread of a short stumpy rocket that was alter called " the rocket formally know as {I forget..}" as it was the visualization of a company logo. They (the company) came after him with a 'cease & desist' letter, so he changed the name to "formally known as.." it was similar to what you want.. all carved foam & 'epoxy panty hose' construction

Do a search for there site through wayback.org I believeVatsaas brothers used to have some unique rockets but I can't find their site anymore so I suspect they moved on. That's one of their rockets you mention above.
It was a take off of the fieud that Prince had with Sony. Kurt

Thanks. I saw one of these at a rocket launch a while back. I think it was a "Bucky Jones - Space Cadet"
That's definitely the neighborhood I'm aiming for.
Construction of this sounds similar to what you had in mind. It was detailed in Sport Rocketry a few issues back. Should upscale fine. You'll need a lot of nose weight. View attachment 314392View attachment 314391View attachment 314390
If I remember right they had stability troubles with that shape. As the speed increased the airflow would detach from the rocket where it decreased in diameter casing the fins to loose there airflow and the rocket would tumble.
Need the fins to stick out beyond the rocket body to be safe.
