Had a break in the wind yesterday long enough to complete my Estes H-Flier XL. Simple and fun to build.100_1714.jpg100_1707.jpg100_1713.jpg

From experience, keep the motors small. It's a small and fast bird, easy to lose sight of.

Very nice looking paint job on there.

I built one of these and it is a favorite flyer of mine. Rock steady I've flown it on D12-5; E9-6; E18-6; F24-7; and F39-7. I have it down in my logbook as a "crowd-pleaser". Enjoy!

Hehe, oops, missed that it was an XL. A lot easier to watch than the smaller hi-Flyer.
The XL is on my list of future kits.

Consider a streamer, hole in the parachute, or a cable-cutter DD solution. I only flew mine three times. Almost lost it twice, then did lose it the third time. They go high, and they float.
