No longer any excuses to make up your own recovery harnesses, Just ordered four 25 foot double loop 1/2 Kevlar from https://onebadhawk.com/index.html $11.00 a piece! :surprised:

At these low prices you can put one in every rocket! I have one 25ft already and they are nice! Custom sizes too! Check it out you wont be sorry.

And it is not just thobin. These cords are awesome. They looks awesome. They feel awesome. They are also probably made with awesomeness sewn into the harness.

Not to mention Teddy is a great guy to deal with.

If you are hesitating:
GET THEM NOW!!

+1 on the quality and dealing with Teddy. Got one for a Madcow FG Patriot I'm building, it's SO much better than the standard nylon SC.

Hey,,,,,,,,
Tanx guys..................

You fly those cords high Todd............

And just for the record Cris,,,,,,,,
I don't know if your counting,,,,,
but I'm up to 6 Eggtimers..........
My buddy Steve and I both don't hear quite so well
what any altimeter is telling us when it's on the pad.......
It's all buttoned up in the av bay,,,,
And we're tired of holding our head to the rocket to hear the "READY" tone.....
This goes for any altimeter........
The Eggtimer has a provision right on the board to pick up for an external LED.........
I bought superbright LED's and little mount "snap in's" and now have a super bright LED
on the outside of each rocket........
You can see the "READY" condition from the LCO's desk..........

How do ya like dem apples...................

Let me know if you need anymore harnesses Cris.............

Matt,,,,,,,,
You've got some building to do,,,,,,,
But I really don't think you'll have the energy
with 2 new puppies around........
They are tooooo cute Matt.............

We had a Last minute 3 day launch this weekend. Last time I was out I separated 3 rockets. (ouch) that nylon just does not last that many years.. it must have been time.

So last week I called Ted up and he went through each rocket size weight chute size etc and made recommendations for me.

He ended up making 4 harnesses for me Two were kevlar one was nylon with with Kevlar Over the lower area.

He made them and had them to me before the launch AWESOME!

These things ROCK! the price is right, and Teds Service is top notch!

Thanks ted no more burnt through Nylon for me!

That's funny Mark,,,
Your starting to sound like me when I'm talking about your vinyl.....
When you make the best,, it's awfully easy to like.............

Teddy

+1 on Ted's harnesses. I just ordered another one today. You know they're good when I have about 50 feet of perfectly good tubular nylon sitting in the workshop and I don't bother to sew it into a harness...no matter what I do, Ted's will be nicer.

Oh ooww,,,,,
I don't see the order......
Did I miss something ???

Teddy

Thank you for the kudos anyway though...................

Another guy in my office ordering and we are splitting the shipping. I don't know if he's actually placed it yet.

wwwwhhhheeeewwwwwwwwwwwww

That was a close one............

Teddy

Teddy!

98mm minimum diameter...'glass....9' long....mass with motor=21.5lbs

Need to order the kevlar harnesses (1ea 2 loop, 1ea 3 loop) and had about decided on the 1/2" variety. Should I reconsider and go with the 1" stuff?

Wow Jeff,,,,
98,,,,,, minimum D..........
wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.........

OK,,,,,
Here goes...........
This is as good a time as any I guess...........

I have been waiting to make a thread until I got everything done
with all of the new material I got, and all of the changes to my website,,,,,,
I may not have started it,,, but this thread has my name on it,,,,,,
So here goes nothing............

You have all supported me in my endeavor to make these harnesses
when I was just doing it because I thought it was the coolest thing in the world,,,,,,
Both making them and selling them........

I have been received so warmly here I couldn't even put it into words.........
So I would like to make a small, humble attempt at a little giveback........
I have lowered the prices on 90% of the existing items on my site.........
A heartfelt thank you to you all..............

I have also gotten the coolest material that I've ever had bar none..........
There are many new materials,,,,,,,
For each new material their are either 2 or 4 or 6 new items made from it..........
I don't care what your flying,,,
or what your preference is on setting up your recovery system,,,,,,,,,
I can set it up for you...............
All the way up to 3/4" 8000 lb Tubular Kevlar............

To be honest,,,
There is one thing I'm not done with yet so it's not on the site yet......
I have Nomex material to make blankets out of and sew them onto the harnesses........
I beta tested this myself on my Green Hornet------------ It worked great.............

Opps,,, one more thing,,, I have some really cool 3/4 flat Kevlar in a fairly small quantity
that I haven't finished working with yet,,, so I haven't put that up on the site yet either............

Opps,,, One more,,, because of the Nomex material,,, I can now sleeve the 1" Tubular Nylon....... Very cool......

If you'll take a look at all of the new harnesses I have up on my site,,,,,
You'll be quite pleasantly surprised............

A genuine Thank you to all...............

Teddy

P.S. -- Jeff,,, Take a look at the 7/16" Tubular Kevlar..........
It's incredibly strong,,, and it aught to pack in a 4" airframe quite nicely..............

Thanks Teddy! I'll look these options over and make a decision soon...

Cheers,

OK Jeff,,,
In my humble opinion,,,,,,,
A 98mm minimum D is awfully serious...........

7/16 Tubular Kevlar..................

But you know,,,,,,
Whichever way you want to do this,,,,,,,
I'm there.........

Highway to (Hazmat) Hell
We have all wondered what would happen if the oxygen and acetylene welding gas delivery truck had an accident in front of us. Please view the video below for what actually happens.
Turn up the sound and notice the rockets going off once ignited. (Best viewed in full-screen.)

Hello everyone,,,
I just got some smokin new material in...
It's Tubular Kevlar,, it's 11/32", just a 32" under 3/8",,,And it's 4000 lb tensile........
It's a perfect size when the 7/16" Tubular Kevlar is a bit too much and you don't have the extra room to pack it....
They are 25 Ft in length and either 2 loop standard,, or you can have a 3rd loop for the drogue chute about 5 Ft. for one end..........

Take a look----------

You can find more info and purchase theses harnesses here------

Thank you all again and again,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I just received two of the same, and I must say, Sexy Harnesses! They are soft and flex like tubular nylon but have all the things we like being kevlar!
Mine are for an 8ft tall 5.5" 2X SA-14 Archer, should be done by August. First flight probably on a K454

Dave,,
I am psyched to see that monster fly......
MAIDEN is going to be on a K 454.........
Geeezzzzzzz.........
I wanna see that flight.............
