Darn what a time to be covering second shift. Maybe I wont be busy

Just added, three RF beacons from Big Red Bee (see: https://www.bigredbee.com/beeline.htm). There are three of these, two high power 100mW versions and one lower power (on left), retail $89 and $59, respectively. All have battery upgrades.

I plan on picking one of those up!

And BTW, does anyone know how much a receiver costs for that?
Thanks,

You have a Ham technician license Andrew? If not you certainly could study and get one easily. You would need to get a 2meter/70cm handi-talkie with a "true" signal strength meter an attenuator and a Yagi antenna to track those.
I'm afraid the $39.95 Chinese radios don't have real signal strength meters on them which limits their utility. Kurt (aka KC9LDH) https://aprs.fi/#!mt=roadmap&z=11&call=a/QCRS&timerange=3600&tail=3600

Al, I think they come with a plain female SMA not an RP-SMA antenna socket The RP-SMA and a small "post" contact in the middle whereas the SMA has a female connector. It's the same as most of the Ham radio H/T gear from Yaesu and Kenwood.
I have three of them two LP and one HP. The all look the same plain SMA. The BLGPS with the SMA connectors are the same. https://www.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-SMA-...PCB-Mount-Straight-RF-Connector-/232293408468

Kurt, you are probably right - I'd have to go downstairs and look. I just wanted to clarify which one of the two had the connector. I think some BRBs just have a soldered on stub antenna. I much prefer the connector.

Al

So one 100mw beacon has the R-SMA connector and the other the soldered on wire? When you post, would you please clarify which one is which as I would go for the 100mw with the connector.

Thanx

Yes, you are right. I too normally like the connector but the rightmost tracker was used for a high altitude flight where space and weight was at a premium. If you turn it sideways you'd also see it has a super skinny battery.

Let me explain how prices will be posted. I will update the Excel spreadsheet and upload it in .PDF form. Thus all prices will be there on one sheet for you to compare. I will also add a column to correspond to the post in this thread where the item is shown. If there are configuration differences in an otherwise identical product, they will be shown on a separate row in the sheet even though the price may be the same. Examples here are the wired versus connectorized transmitter board as mentioned, or the MARSA54L 50g vs 100g accelerometer option.

Kurt,
I've been studying to get my HAM radio license for a few months. I'm a NWS storm spotter, and would like to get my HAM license to contact them to report a storm. and in case of a emergency, it can be
very useful to call for help. :)

Thanks,

I found a way... in the app, press the ... on upper rights, the select web view. You then have to scroll through.

Force close and refresh gave prior version of file.

Pm sent

Well, besides the 75mm sled, it seems to be a nice distribution of requests which makes it good for all.

Thanks for all the interest.

I would ask that you please only send one PM when making a request. Also, follow-ups to see if your PM was received only make it harder to tally and assign incoming requests.

My computer and internet are running fine. If yours is, we are golden. (The Internet is perfect, right.)

I do believe this is exactly what everyone needs in order to chill:

OK, that's funny, but I don't think it's going to be that bad.

I'd say we are in the last kernels of the popcorn stage. Probably will be able to get results back before 10pm.
