Seeing how a 4" Kosdon motor is 4" OD, then are most builders using the centering rins to mount the motor?
Or has anyone used a heavy wall 4.5" cardboard tube in lieu of the CR build?
 
I would think rings would be the way. Motor mount tube are ok, and yes I use them too, but really could be eliminated with some thought. Less mass in rear of rocket is good.
 
I use 4" ID tubes from Yazoo. They are usually a bit large but a wrap of tape will make it fit tight.
