Well, obviously that's going to be difficult to launch with a launch lug. So how about a tube launch. Seems appropriate. Going through the junk room, I found this - tube1.jpg It's 3" ID, which is perfect. The clear plastic doo-dad is part of a parfait glass from a yogurt shop that went out of business. It might be a nosecone some day. The paper cups made great mixing containers.

I stopped by Walmart and bought a pack of 110 lb. card stock. I layed out some disks to try them out.

That's almost exactly 3" in diameter, obviously too tight. So I backed the compass off a tenth-inch and made the patterns -

Two centering rings and an end cap.

The design needs a bit of nose weight. I flipped the end cap over and drew where the motor tube would go.

Glued a 3/8 oz. fishing weight on with a dab of epoxy. The sim called for 0.4 oz. - probably just a tad over (but that's better).

Checking fit of bottom cone and centering ring. Looks good so far...

Now waiting for glue to dry on second cone/top centering ring joint. I'll trim excess after it's had over night to set up.

Got it all glued up and overhangs trimmed. Will try it out this weekend. I need to try and weigh it before launching, too.

and it looks like there's a perfect amount of clearance.

I think I'll try the first launch on a C6. I've had tube-launched rockets stick before, so I really want to kick this out the first time...

Should take off like it was shot out of a gun.
I like it...a nice "Who thinks of that?" idea.

You need to add a butt stock and trigger to that tube while your at it, might as well go all the way.

Paul T ,whom by the way ,loves his pellet guns and BBs too ! (the squirrels and rabbits....not so much  )
