What did you do rocket wise today?

Not having a sim in front of me, its seems to me any big baddy with enough nose weight to L1 on, would launch fine on a G64-4. It's 3 inches in diameter and over a pound yes??

VIA NAR L1:

Combinations of D, E, F or G motors that meet the impulse requirements do not qualify as the model does not contain at least one H or I impulse motor.

If not sat, I will do it in June. It in no way slows down my rocket adventures. A Baddazz MKII is on the way and I will keep launching and building. I really do not want to do dual deploy yet, but want to have some fun.

Will do a proper thread, but I am having a ton of fun. The thing is a built tough.

Thanks Doug and Kevin. I will let you know if I need the assist. I do not have any CTI hardware though. Not worried though. I figure the THOR launch is going to rule no matter how many times I get to launch and will love it.

You'll find that people are very willing to lend CTI hardware (24mm through 54mm) because it usually cleans up really easily.

I painted my fat boy kit bash which is now known as the "bullet". 3 coats of Rustoleum metallic with 4 or 5 coats of clear.

Doing a Rocksim of Bad Dog's Redemption. (Refer to post #1854) Waiting for thrust rings from Uncle Mike's so I can get back to the "Fantasy" build.

And just ordered some bulk parts from Semroc so I can start on Bad Dog's Redemption.

G'nite folks. Hope everyone has a good tomorrow, clear skies, and straight flights.

I updated my blog, including the build technique for shock cord attachment for minimum diameter applications.

Cut an old friend last night, B.o.B. His airframe was crimped, so I cut the crimp, and I am now awaiting a coupler tube to repair the damage so B.o.B. can fly again.

CTI hardware isn't an issue.... :)

I finish my 1" launcher and I order an AT I 357T , not bad it's only 8:30 am . I'm not only going to lev 1 Saturday, I will also try lev 2

You'd be surprised how many new and old timers (especially old timers) are not on TRF because they perceive us as talkers and not do'ers. I know I personally think they are completely wrong (I being in the top 10 posters). I have learned more here reading and observing other's build threads than I'll ever learn offline. And I can do it at my own pace and when *I* have time.

Really? I guess I can understand some people being cranky, but that's an odd attitude to have. I know personally without TRF I'd still be building small D rockets and launching on baseball fields. Not that it isn't a valid pursuit of the hobby. But I really enjoy doing larger builds and progressing into larger launches. Without this forum it would have taken many many failed launches to learn how to build properly. I may talk more than I launch, but it makes the launches that much better...to me anyways.

worked on a Rocketarium Mega rebel kit today.
I know i am a bit late for this post but hey i just found it.
not sure what i am going to do with the finish, i am thinking maybe an Evel Knievel theme.

My test Big Daddy flew great on a G64-7w and deployed - .1 second from apogee. It was my biggest launch to date and was flippin awesome. The current build has a bit more weight and is built with full ply instead of the light stuff plus more epoxy than really needed, but it is solid as heck. Darn heavy build. It is kinda freaky.

I am saving the G64-4W for my first scratch build the Long Flat Daddy, which has yet to fly.

Learned that bondo spot filler slays primer and makes quite the mess. Wood filled it up and have sanded it darn well. It is going to be awesome.

Started tracker mount assembly on a 4" rocket.
Started altimeter bay assembly on same rocket.

Fixed more prices on the Wildman website

Chatted with Jim Amos on the phone a bit, regarding the RRC3

Realized that Beerorkid will get to see an M motor flight on Saturday. That should be fun to watch! I hope he brings an extra pair of shorts. :)

Finished the last of the epoxying on my Jart. Added in the all-thread and secured it in. Weighed it... 13.5 all up except motor case and rail buttions. Started the process of ejection cup holes, shear pin holes, screw holes, vent holes, and rail button holes. Holy cow! Tomorrow night is finish the drilling and see about a GPS sled. My Raven 3 should fit in just fine. If I am productive enough, ground testing in the back yard.

I am so glad the wife will not be attending the THOR launch this Sat 18th.

:)

She is cool, do not get me wrong, but she would enjoy every crazy launch and poke me in the rib hard saying "DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT" a second later

I love her ;)

I spent some good rocket money today on getting one of my cars repaired today and the end is not in sight. 2005 Ford Taurus with a sketchy transmission (they are known for it).

Yep, timing belt time in my old beat up Tundra or one of these weekends it won't make the chug up to Lucerne.

AV and payout section rebuilds for my stretch DX3 happening anyways. No very pricey to do that.
