There will be some interesting big projects this year. There is a 6 inch mean machine, a 16 inch mosquito and a 12 inch Thor.

Fun Fun Fun!

Does anyone camp out on Friday night? We might drive down from Goodyear, but have never been to your launch site.
Yes, there will be people there on Fri night. Some of setup folks will stay and avoid the drive back home and Jack of Whats up Hobbies will be arriving then. I am not sure about the food vendors.

Formally announcing:

The Arizona Rocketry Team is back at Desert Heat 2013 and will be launching two projects.
1) 9-foot tall 16-inch diameter upscale Estes Mosquito
2) 35-foot tall 6 in diameter upscale Estes Mean Machine

Wayne, I'm planning to drive down friday afternoon. Good news for you, I have no onboard generator with this new rig!!!

We could coordinate our site as well. Waiting to hear back from Guy, Ken, etc.

The urban assault vehicle is history? Say it ain't so.....
We are still on the fence with this, it really depends on Sharon's work load. If we do head out on Friday, I will give you a call.

Good luck for everyone flying.

I will not be attending with a recent case of tonsillits I am home bound.

Just a friendly bump.

Congrats Guy, I bet it was one heck of a flight! I am still bummed out I was not able to make this launch.

Desert Heat was a success. Although the wind Saturday curtailed the flights of all mid and high power, including the Mosquito and the Thor. Arizona Rocketry Team did launch their 25ft Mean Machine, despite the wind. The wind played havoc with my fleet. I lost three and my grandson's six footer had a no parachute dive onto a RV in the parking lot, (sorry for any damage).

The night flights were fantastic!!! Many beautifly lit up rockets, including a couple made from round plastic cat toys, roared into the cool night sky!

GuySmith sorry to hear about your foot, (I bet it was a gopher hole... right?). I tripped several times in them, next year we will try and get them filled in.

Thank you to everyone who participated, without you and your beautiful well built rockets, we would not have this event!

Thank you to the rocket venders who also made the trek to Tucson, you guy's are the greatest! The local food venders also deserve a BIG thanks for keeping everyone's tummy full of wonderful food, at a great value!

All in all it was just a great weekend of beautiful rockets and good freinds.

Here are a few of my pictures.
