What's the deal with disposable latex gloves? Can't find them anywhere.

I work as a consultant on a project at a Univ. School of Chem. Engr. lab (betcha can't guess where!). I wear XL gloves (I need 2X but the school stockroom doesn't carry them). My problem is that I have to keep a stash hidden. For some reason, all the petite asian female grad students want to wear XL gloves instead of the correct size. The guys don't seem to have that problem. If I leave my box of gloves out, they will be gone in a week, and the smaller sizes won't be touched. I'm tempted to use non-disposable gloves, but some of the gunk we deal with makes that impractical (ever had a set of gloves start to *smoke* while you've got your hands in them?).

Menards and Lee Valley ,all kinds of latex gloves in 100 count boxes.

I like latex and nitrile ,I usethem depending on the task ,but I always keep several boxes of latex in the shop.

Latex is linked to more allergies. Most medical treatment facilities are moving away from them.
