This past Saturday I flew my rocket ShikrA 24 to 7964 ft AGL from just above sea level in Helm, Ca. The motor was a Cesaroni G145 Pink. Obviously not an altitude motor but I am told I was the first to fly one in CA which is why I did. This is more of my "play" rocket and not so much my altitude bird as that one is still in the works. This would not have officially broken the old TRA record since it was only 1.4% higher but it obviously would have set the official record as of now since that spot is vacant. Here's a pic and Raven file

Awesome -- Since you got a small rocket back from almost 8,000 ft I would say your doing really good.

Very cool. Our 2011 winner in G altitude for the Battle of the Rockets was Shippensburg University and they only got to 7012 ft. The catch on that was the rocket had to have at least one part of it that was 54mm diameter. No minimum diameter rockets allowed.
