I picked "saxophone" for my screen name because "dlkdfwiensdfewiedjdwiejdmx" was already taken. :D

Very easy. Womble is a long standing nickmane. gs are my initials. Most forums womble is taken already.
Now the story behind the nickname is more amusing, but its too late to start into that now.

no no no go on... hell my nickname is puffer (YES I HAVE ASTMAH... NO I CANT SPELL IT) :D

Ok, I was 14 and in the ATC (Air Training Corps.) At the time I was short and tubby!
We went on a night exercise. I was wearing full camo gear and a bobble hat. Aparently I looked like a Womble. Its just stuck ever since!

OK. I admit. My name is "Neil", and so is my screen name. No story, no natta. I just figured I might as well go with one name for everything. So I am Neil. LOL...... I didnt know SQUAT about forums ETC. when I joind TRF, so I didnt know you were kinda supposed ta come up with something fancy. At least I know people are talkin about ME when they say "Neil".... I dont have to remember two names all the time.....

Pretty easy on this one. N1LUL is my HAM radio call sign.

I am plannning to upgrade my licence this spring to general class(if I can EVER get morse code to stay in my head for more than 5 min.) so I may have to change it

My name is Mark and I am from Boston. Nuff said. I also Fly airplanes for a living so the Mach fits for that also. The 7 comes from the first screen name I needed on the web, 1-6 were taken.

I used to (try to) fly helicopters - I really wanted the other guys to call me "Maverick" but for some reason this name stuck...

One of the tests they give you during hele training is to simulate an engine failure and you are (supposed) to autorotate down to a smooth landing. To check you hadn't bumped the tail skid the instructors would put a mark on the underside of it with a bit of chinagraph pencil.

A couple of times I had to dig for that bit of the tail skid...

I had a chocolate Lab for 14 years named Hobie

When I joined, I had a work shop called, "Woody's Workshop".
Since the loss of job and home, the shop no longer exists.
My nick name of Woody's Workshop originated from an online game my wife and use to play years back called Ultima Online.
I had a character named Woody, who was a GM in many things, had a shop where he sold his wares.
Thus, There is where it all started.
But younger in life in school day's, my nick name was "Quincy".
Even the teachers called me that instead of my real name, which is John Adams.
I also hosted the nick name of "Iron Lungs", but that I decline to discuss.
My family refers to me now as "The Old Man".

Nick @ JET - I used to own JET racing suspension and everyone called me that at the races so that became my forum names on other forums and I just kept it - though I sold that business a while ago.

Screaminhelo: I was a young SPC Blackhawk crew chief and wanted a cool screen name for a forum. It was the first one that I though was befitting of the best thing to happen to helicopters since Igor that wasn't taken. I have been dragging it around for over 20 years now.

rharshberger, my parents fault and I figured that I needed a handle on a forum like this that people would recognize if I am out at a rocketry event, it also doesn't allow me the anonymity to troll/be an a$$ without affecting my personal reputation.

I've been the president of the Connecticut Bicycle Racing Association (CBRA) since 1995. My first name is Rick, hence CBRARick.

Of note, it was created 1892, so we predate the Amateur Bicycle League of America, United States Cycling Federation and USA Cycling. Probably be there after USACycling is gone.

Holy cow. I used to play that game all the time. Lots of good times. What shard?

But to my screen name: My real name is Michael and I live in a small town named Slagle. My cousin starting calling me Mikey D back when we DJed, it had a nice ring to it and it stuck. Some folks see Mikey D and simply call me Mikey (sigh) I used Mikeydslagle as an email so I just continued using it here.

Played an online game in junior high. Made all three classes, warrior, mage, and rogue.
Only the rogue, named Nightrunner, got decent drops, and I played for a couple years into highschool. I played basketball, volleyball, and was in student council, so my gaming habits and personae were shuffled behind the curtain.
Then i started playing Lord of the Rings Online with my brother. Of course Nightrunner was taken, as was the first several numbers, so I adopted Nytrunner.
Nytrunner has never been unavailable wherever I tried it. I'll be using it again soon because Star Wars the Old Republic's expansion is live now.

I've never been a forum person, so Until Now it has always been a secret facet of my existence that remained hidden from the public eye.

The Jazz part comes from the first third of my last name Jas pronounced jazz.
The viper part comes from my favorite space fighter the Colonial Viper. The on from the original series not that remake felgercarb.
The 1 was just because I needed a number.

Mine came from a wine making forum around 2011. Just stuck with it. Cabernut = nut for cabernet sauvignon, pretty much the only kind of wine I enjoy - and make.

?.....

Wow....UO....man I put a lot of time in that game. I had a Legendary Tamer/Mage on Napa Valley called Osiris Darkmoon. I used to catch and sell dragons at the Bank. I always had my 6X GM White Wyrm with me, named Frostbyte. We could take down just about anything in the game. Between Frostbyte, my Vet skills and Legendary Magery, we were deadly.

its been 10 years since I played....sometimes wonder what became of everything. Nostalgia says it'd be fun to play again....common sense reminds me why I stopped and started going outside again.....

As an aside, I played Ultima 1 -3 on when they were first released on the Apple II. But that has nothing to do with my screen name.

I had a cat named Manix. He was one of a kind, a white 'meezer' (basically a siamese without any markings) rescue cat. Most of his litter mates died but he and his brother hung on. He was born without a tail and being all white, looked like a rabbit. He would walk in a harness, loved everyone, and was just a complete nut. He would rocket around the house for no reason other than he liked to run around. My level 3 rocket was named after him (That's the rocket in my avatar). Although I've owned many cats in my life he really was unique and completely unlike any other cat I've ever owned. He unfortunately got cancer and died much too early. But he lives on in my user name.

My son uses the same name on several forums he visits. He was also very fond of Manix. It's a cool bond that we share.

Wow! Wayback thread! where did all the early posters go to? Hmmm.
Me? it is what it says "fyrwrxz'=fireworks. Nowadays you can't do the cool stuff we used to do and certainly can't get the chems we used to get for cheap. Making fireworks now is best left for underpaid workers, but there is something to be said for colouring the sky with your own construct. It's hard, dirty work and in my opinion the license is not worth it anymore. I will, however, forgo sleep and food to build a rocket. Apogee is a little less exciting now unless something catastrophic happens! And I get to launch it again. (it says in fine print)

You guys think you've found an old enough thread to resurrect?

CherokeeJ... Two guesses, but neither one counts...

Last name, first initial, middle initial.

I should have gone anonymous.
