Okay...I don't know why, but I have a real problem getting into any of the rocketry yahoo groups except one. (CATO)

The problem is when I try to get into any of the groups except the public ones (like Emrr) I get all turned around and asked to verify my e-mail. At which point I do but it never comes through and in the end...I can't get in.

I have an email address and a password with yahoo...just doesn't seem to work with any of the other groups when I try to sign up.

I'm usually pretty intuitive about doing most things on the web but for some reason yahoo always seems to get me stumped.

Any Ideas?

So you sign in on the yahoo.com prompt right? Lots of folks seem to forget the need to sign in at the beginning of each session sorta like logging in here at TRF... Once you've done this all the groups your signed up with should appear on the blue side bar. all you should have to do is click on the group and you should be on the home page for that group. I use the Back feature to switch between groups.
Hope this helps.

Yep...here are the steps I take:
Go to Yahoo.com>
Click on Groups>
On the left is the list of groups I belong to (Just 1-CATO)>
So, to join other rocketry groups, I first do a search of "MODEL ROCKETRY">
The search results are large and I find that #19 (EMRR) is a group I want to join so...>
I click on emrr at the front of the group description>
There is a page the describes the group and a hyperlink "Join this group", which I click on>
THIS IS WHERE IT GETS FUNKY
Now I am facing a page that saysYou already have 1 membership(s) for this group with the email addresses in your Account Info. Click "Get Web Access" below to complete the registration required for Web Access, or or "Edit Membership" to manage this membership with this Yahoo! ID.
[email protected] (Subscribed to mailing list. Get Web Access) So, I click on "Get Web Access"..........>>>

No some smart **S byte says,"
You are not a member of the group emrr.
If you believe you are a member, Find your membership

Clicking on this just results in the same exact page...basically going nowhere. Thats it.:kill:

just guessing,

..It may be your not set up for cookies ..If your security setting is set to" high" It will do exactly what your describing sometimes
even if you're already a member

in other word, the group may not be able to retrieve your "membership" cookie

I'm not a Guru,so please see what others say, before messing with your security settings..

Okay...I checked my "Options" in Internet Explorer and the security section is set to Medium There are some Third and First party cookies tht they block. What's strange is, I can get into the first Yahoo group I signed up for and still can.

Any advice....?

I also got nowhere with yahoo, gave it a couple tries and gave up. I have too much other stuff to get done as it is without wasting my time with an un-cooperative website.
I guess it is true what they say about old dogs and new tricks?
Anyway, I wish the info was available in some form that was easier to access, I get the impression there is a lot of data in there.

Well...I finally got in. Yahoo seems to be alot more complex than it has to be. I finally was able to"Find" my account and edit it. When I did, I found out that I was a member of the group but that it wasn't listed as such until I did this sort of weird search of it? Funny, it says that I'm a member but doesn't list it as such.

Right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

Anyway, I'm I'm all set guys. I'll say this, if they want to compete with google...they need to suscribe to the KISS theory.
