This is how the metallic paint goes on. Start with gloss black base. Then very light coats of the chrome. It dries quickly, then you give it a quick buff....I used a microfiber towel.

Current state. I’m modeling this with the optional payload bay, so I added the screw details between it and the main booster. Still need to add this detail to the base of the nosecone. I think the painting is done. There is a bit of hangar rash, but I may just leave it....for ‘scale accuracy’.

I really like those screws around the payload bay, that is a very nice touch of realistic scale detail. And that metal looks fantastic.

Absolutely incredible... Yeah, the details really sell it.

And I still can't get over the metallic finish on the nose and tail cones. Gunna have to try some of that stuff...

Magnificent work Turbo!! 👍 👍 👍 👍

BTW - I spied those free flight rubber models in the background, there. P-30s?

Thanks for the compliments! I’ve tried make this one a ‘super scale’. Pretty easy for the Iris if you take your time.

Yes Mugs, there are several P30’s in there, plus a couple of coupe d’hiver and the token Gollywock. Haven’t flow them in years. They take a lot of space to fly.

Almost ready to fly! I ordered the parachute today. Tulsa Rocketry launch is in two weeks, hopefully the chute makes it here on time.

I’m running out of room on my rocket wall.

Absolutely beautiful! The only way to make it better is to have some nice exhaust flames trailing underneath 😁
What are your plans for flight motors?

She flies! Maiden flight today on an AT I435T. A little drama as the main chute was slow to open, but it flew great. Hope to post my phone video later today. Here are some pics.
