They are back! :D
Anyone who knows me, knows I'm obsessed with tailcone closures. They are sleek, sexy, professional and functional. After many years of trying to find long out of production unobtanium ones, Wildman has answered the call. These are identical to the out of production Rouse-Tech ones and are a certified AeroTech part. You can use them for altitude records or for any 75mm or 54mm minimum diameter rocket. *NOTE- it is not advised to use them on loads with the Medussa nozzle. They are bright silver anodized and in my opinion look nicer.

I've taken some measurements (+/- .25mm) with my HF calipers (I know) and don't have the exact measurements at the moment, but on we go. I will say that these fit absolutely flush with 75mm and 54mm tubing I had on hand which were both Wildman and Madcow.

Here you can see them side by side. Wildman production models and the non-existent Rouse-Tech ones.

Here is one on a Wildman Mach2 kit. These are great additions to the Mach2 and Mach3 kits. Or another MD bird like the Blackhawks, Falcons, Mongoose, Tomach, Go-Devils or your own build. 20200515_204557.jpg20200515_204646.jpg

Now for some measurements and weights. Don't hold me to the fire on the measurements, these calipers are not the finest.

I’ll second how nice they are. Nearly broke my mouse with the furious clicking when the email about the 75 went out.

Ahhh. tailcone closure, not retainer. My mind was trying to figure out how you were doing a tailcone retainer in min-diameter. (???)
Awesome stuff. In the future might there be the option of ones with the OD matching the case OD for staged motor-as-coupler projects?

Corrected to closure. Sorry got mixed up.

The Mach2 has a aeropack retainer with LumaDyne inserts for removal or moving the mounting height for different cases/ closures along with the extensions. 20190916_093024.jpg

A part like that would be great to have available for a MD 2 stage. But I would imagine getting one would be a custom part made by someone. Also wouldn't be a certified part which would be fine.
