Now that my flying season is coming to an end I decided to start building a few mid power rockets to add to my collection. First up is the Wildthang Sport from Wildman. The body tube was made of red filament wound fiberglass54mm in diameter and22.75 inch long. The nose cone is black injected molded fiberglass wildman lists it a a 4.25 to 1 Ogive. The two centering rings are black g10 about 1/16" thick. The bulkhead is black g10 with a 3/8" hole (I haven't measured it yet). The fin are 1/16" thick black g10 with wildman's signature "W" carved into them. The motor mount has a 29mm id and is 7 inches long. Wildman also includes a length of 3/32"(?) Kevlar.

Last night I was able to assemble a section of the Kevlar to the motor mount and another section to the nose. The upper centering ring was sanded so that it had two notches just big enough for the Kevlar to fit through. The nose bulkhead was sanded the same way. I placed heat shrink tubing on the each end of the cut ends of kevlar (useless when they are getting coated in epoxy). Then affixed the Kevlar to the mmt using Rocketpoxy mixed with the black dye. For the nose I placed a washer on the end of the Kevlar and placed it in the tip of the nose and poured in about 20 ml of public missiles foam to secure it in place. Today I'll install the motor mount and fins. Since I have the foam on hand I might fill the fin can with it.
