The same reason doors on aircraft are marked "Do not open in flight!" The same reason many TV shows start with the line "Do not try this at home!" Even Forged in Fire as a disclaimer at the beginning now, that say forging metal can be hazardous. I saw a YouTube video, therefore I am qualified to do this!
At first I thought "Oh, I didn't know they put candy in with beef jerky?" But that packet is a dessicant. It absorbs moisture and keeps whatever's in the package from going stale. Don't think you'd die if you ate it, but you probably wouldn't like it. OR ARE YOU PULLING OUR COLLECTIVE LEGS?
It must be good for you, it's called Ageless. Oxygen Absorber, wouldn't that be an Antioxidant? Also supposed to be good for you. M
I think ze bullet just needs to vent regarding the increasing perception of vanishing common sense in the industrialized world. Someone or their small child did it, had a problem. Now they're all marked Same as warnings or restrictions in other areas of life. Someone's ignorant, negligent, or outright nefarious activity resulted in narrowing the allowable space for common sense harmless practitioners
I bought a swimming mask. Had big peel off stickers on the lenses with color and details of the mask. Basically you couldn’t see anything with the stickers on. Included at the bottom of each sticker was a note: “Remove before using.”
The worst warning EVER listed Do NOT use your genital to stop the chain saw blade From Hasqvarna I wonder who tried to do that first????
Why are there warnings with push mowers not to pick up a running mower and use to trim bushes? Because there was that one dumb mass who did it, and the resulting lawsuit made it necessary.
Warning labels Baby Stroller “Remove child before folding” Thermometer “Once used rectally, the thermometer should not be used orally.” Bunch more from Readers Digest here https://www.rd.com/funny-stuff/funny-warning-labels/
Interestingly enough, apparently that is not true. Not that I am recommending it. Don’t put it on your tide pods, and don’t mix it with your Tide sipper drink packs (pictures above) either. https://myria.com/what-if-you-ate-the-little-packet-that-says-do-not-eat At least according to this article, the basic desiccant stuff is harmless to eat, packs may be a choking hazard to children. If it is turning blue or violet however it may have other stuff which IS bad for you.
headline that follows the same sort of theme; Parents protest for kids right to suffer from preventable illness. WA and the illnesses are mumps measles & reubella ( German measles). I can sort of get the thinking behind the chicken pox parties but(IMO) the measles is nothing to play around with. Rex
TRF Risk Management Section Memorandum: A new LARGE RED FONT Warning Label should be immediately added to the TRF Watering Hole section: DANGER, WARNING: COMPLETELY Swallow any food or drink BEFORE reading "The Watering Hole" Section threads !!!!! TRF will not be liable for any damages or injuries to computer equipment, mobile phones, furniture, nearby family members, pets, collectable vintage rocket kits, etc. READ at your own RISK!! Can somebody get one of the Moderators to add a safety warning like this asap? Oh, wait.....
Sorry to be too literal, but this is not a desiccant. It’s intended to absorb the oxygen within a sealed package, not the moisture. And you’re correct; it’s safe to accidentally ingest. http://ageless.mgc-a.com/faq.aspx
I just saw a article this week regarding a study they've been doing on measles. When the measles vaccine first came out, in many countries they also saw a significant decline in other diseases that seemed unrelated to the measles vaccine. What they now believe, is that in addition to its own illness, measles also effectively "erases" your immune system's "memory." So that, even though you might have already had the flu, or chicken pox, etc. and your immune system is supposed to "remember" those viruses and fight them off, after contracting measles, your immune system "forgets" and you can catch all of them all over again.
