Did some launches with my godson and a quick-built Estes setup at El Mirage last week and had fun. I'm putting together a sport model of my own to take on my next trip out to the Mojave, but I'd like to have a few launches to shake it down before we're all the way out there. I'm in the Houston area. I've found NASA/Houston Rocket Club, which launches at Johnson, and Tripoli, which launches at Hearne Municipal. Of the two, Johnson is closer, but it's still about as far away as you can get and still be in the Houston area. (Quite possibly still worth it for the chance to launch my own rocket at that facility!)
Just wondering if there's anything closer in the Cypress area. Do they launch at Sparks R/C? Anything in the reservoir parks between 290 and I-10?
