Are you looking for braided elastic or just plain flat cord? In what length?

Flat is fine, less than 50cm for lpr

Go to a local fabric store or the sewing section of local grocery / discount store. They generally have elastic in that size. You want the cotton covered type. The polyester/nylon jacketed type will melt.

For ordinary elastic, I go to Wal-Mart's sewing section (no fabric stores close by).

Go get some Kevlar string and use a good long length of it for your shock cord.

That elastic belongs in your underwear, not your rocket.
