Where to buy SS strips for engine hooks?

Hello,
Anyone find a good source for buying Stainless steel strips to be used for engine hooks? I would like to cut and bend the strips myself to save some bucks.

Thanks,
Brian

Find an auto repair shop and make a deal with one of the technitians to save you old wiper blades.

The metal strips on each side of the rubber are perfect!

I Have always use brass on my low to mid power engine mounts and have never had a problem. Most hardware (True Value) stores will have it.

I have every garage within a 10 mile radius on my "hit" list. Still isn't enough.

John,

I see your problem...

You need a bigger radius!

I've been using .015" x 125" spring tempered 301 stainless strip. comes in 10foot mini coils. McMaster-Carr #2416k67. Kinda pricey at 45.18 plus about 3.00 ups. but it's very nice stuff;)
Hope this helps.

I have gathered a pretty good supply by asking my family to save old wiper blades, even offering to change them myself for them...
