Just wondering where to attach the drogue and main chutes on the shock cords in a standard dual deploy design - close to the upper section or lower section?

Thanks, that answers my question and then some. Good to know some of the theory behind the choice of attachment points.

Yes, excellent info from onebadhawk.
Getting the Drogue to hold the cord in an inverted 'V' is important as explained by onebadhawk.

One thing I do is add a third loop on the Main chute cord and attach chute directly to the cord.
This ensures the nose cone attachment point ONLY takes a weight of the nose. Never trust the molded loop on a plastic nose cone and most times I drill holes on the nose base then pass a loop of heavy Kevlar through to secure the cord to the nose.
