I'm working on a 54mm super-roc that will be at least 10' in length...maybe more now that I've scored two of the tubes from the waste bin at work. I think that a rocket of this size should have an equally long name. The working name in progress is "The Super Slim Jim Agitated Bovine Supression Missle System Mk. 13".... Any suggestions for additions to the name? What's the longest rocket name that any of you have heard of?

I'd don't know of any longer. My longest is the Sweat-Stained Clifton Tracking Station Hat of Death.

"The Super Slim Jim Agitated Bovine Supression Missle System Mk. 13" wth optional Astable multivibrator with state indicating photo optic outputs

My personal favorite it "The Happy Birthday Party Napkin Rocket of the Apocalypse"

Maybe so, but can you put it to music, or put it into a limerick?

Heck...that's what most rap sounds like to me...

Bobrogg-

I love the name, but having seen it happen, that might be considered bad.... A 2 stage K to K behemoth locked onto its rail buttons and took the pad with it...Needless to say this affected the flight profile negatively and it lanced a pickup truck that was parked on the flight line. As everyone was running over to make sure everything was okay, someone yelled "It hasn't staged yet!" and everyone ducked for cover....luckily the staging was with an altimeter and not a timer...

Rabidsheep-

Huh?

Maybe it would be easier to type if you took off your mittens...

I'm listening to rap right now...

There was a girl at school that thought of one:

Super Cheese Penguin Q-Cumber 3000

Oh, don't get me wrong. I like some rap, like Outkast. It's just that my bro will "sing" to it....AIEEEEE! It seems to come out as a mumble.

I think Oukast is under the Funk category though...not sure.

The rocket and pad flew through the rear window on the driver's side and snapped the door forward so violently that it dented the front fender.... Luckily no one was injured and our club covered the repair bill, so no paperwork was needed...

...And the guy who owned the truck had never been to a launch before. Also, He-had-just-arrived. What an inaguration...

Whew. Hope to never see that again.

As for long rocket names:

From Brad Vatsaas, a guy in my club:

It seems some of these names have gotten so long that the owner will have to give them an alias - preferably some unpronouncable character.

How about this:

"The only way I could impress those guys on The Rocketry Forum was to build this rediculously long rocket and make up this incredibly rediculously long name to put on the side of the rocket so that you would run out of breath and pass out before you could read it all."  :D

I could print it real small like those bumber stickers and add:
"If you can read this you are too close to this rocket, 3, 2, 1, ......"
