Yesterday I built a 4” diameter, 75” tall Black Brant from 24x30 white paper and some cardboard rings/fins. Weight without motor is 280g. 18” homemade tablecloth chute. Mason line shock cord. 24mm motor mount. Should fly around 230’ on a D12-3 in the back yard. If it survives, I’ll try an a E12 or composite E. It’s not pretty, but good for a few smiles!

Maybe you could launch that with a time-history altimeter that can track flight speed, so you can find the flutter speed of cardboard fins, that will be just slightly less than the peak speed recorded when they shred :).
