For christmas mumsy got me a public enemy performer (and a rrc2 altimeter... SCORE!... thanks to Bob at hangar11 for somehow guiding her)

Now, heres the perdicament. I in no way, shape, or form have any knowledge of how to make it dual deploy. I have a "vague" idea if you would of how it works, and a "hey that should work" idea on how to set it up... Im sure i can get the answer from a search...

The other thing is that i dont know what to power it with exactly... Im too young to get certed, and unless dad becomes enveloped in doing so then thats out of the question...

so i guess my options would be pro38 G motors, use the adapter and use a 29 AT G motor, or get custom CR's made and cluster it...

What kind of altitudes are expected with 29mm at G's... To me it looks alittle big for something like that, but im just curious...

Any suggestions appreciate

I guess the first question is: Did your mom order the PE Performer with the dual deploy option?

Second question: Is it the 3" or 4" version?

Not all Performers are created equal...

Its the 3" dual deploy model. After googling it alittle turns out that an AT reload could get it moving pretty good... If anything i can use it as a learning experience for dual deploy and some high power stuff

ok, now i have another question on mounting the altimiter... would it be alright to mount it in the coupler that is screwed into the payload bay? with the two couplers there, it only leaves 2 inches of room... with some measurments, and sanding down the cr's to mount the altimeter it should end up with one cr flush against the bulkhead (leaving the eyebolt as a minor problem, but it can just fit right through the whole in the cr) and the other flush with the end of the coupler... i could hold it in the bottom with some tape...

heres a diagram... i dont see why it wouldn't work...

diagram

thanks again

worked alittle today on the altimiter mount, sanded the rings down to fit in the coupler, then glued the actual mounting piece and the supports on...

nice and snug in the coupler...

im scared how nothing horrifically wrong happened like it being glued crooked or not fitting... something strange is going on

due to my reocurring inability to sleep i stayed up till 4 am working on it :p

pretty much finished most of it, just need fillets and reinforcing, lugs, and some other little stuff...

heres the motor mount with some quick 5 minute fillets... i need some slower setting apoxe to finish it up

I got a 4" Extreme Performer dual deployment and RRC2 altimeter from Bob at hangar 11 over a year ago. There are many ways to make the altimeter bay. I've had seven launches on it: 5 I's and 2 J's. It's a great rocket.

wow. finally did something with this rocket...

got the retention in, nothing fancy, just t nuts and those door hooks...

first fit:

i had to shave alittle off the t nut to get it to fit, the slobbered em with jbweld

door hook fits beautifully... i just need to... uhh... "borrow" another one off the kitchen door later...

also, finally got more slow set epoxe so the whole mount was reenforced today, and tomorrow i guess ill slide it in...

im still confused slightly about the dual deploy, just where the ematch should go, where the canister goes, and a few other things...

hopefully ill do my jr. level one with this, and put it up on a g80 or so to try my hand at electronics
