It's a space plane kit. It has a tail number of T-201, but that's not the kit name. It seems to be OOP. I can see it in an image of Quest's 2010 poster, but the image is too blurry to read.
The fold-over is right where side tubes end, which would make getting a clean cut difficult. And there is a bit missing from the top of the body tube. And it already had some scars from previous repairs. As I see it I have four choices:
Attempt to find a kit for sale.
Attempt a touchy repair. I'd make the cut, doing the best I can to avoid serious damage to the side tubes, add a coupler, replace all of the tube above the cut, apply lots of spackle and do lots of sanding, do the best I can for the decals.
Clone the whole thing.
Shrug my shoulders and let it go.
I'm leaning toward number 4. It was never really a favorite. I'm only thinking of replacing it because repairing one's fleet is what you do. (That is, even replacing a rocketk is repairing the fleet.)
I just picked up one on Ebay. Open kit, missing a couple parts.
Nothing that I don't have on hand already.
I love those older Quest Kits.
And the Older Custom Kits.
BTW, I'm still looking for a Custom Matra!
I just HAVE to have one....
