Since it was a nice day I was in the Casino betting on the Final Four. Watched some basketball and golf at the same time. Went home at half time. Then it was war between me and the weeds. With the large amount of rain we have had the little beggars are every where. Went through 3 gallons of Round Up and only got about a third of the acre sprayed. I will have to do outside the fence too. After the weeds die this summer they become a fire hazarded. I keep a 30' clear zone around the property. When a wind driven wild fire gets going it moves fast and hot. My neighbor has let giant weeds grow along his fence. He has privacy slats in his fence. The weeds on the outside of his fence are 4' to 5' tall. Dry weeds and plastic spell disaster. Fortunately I have cleared between his place and mine. This weekend is the annual Baker to Las Vegas foot race. All Police, Fire and other first responders. Each member of the team runs one leg. All the runners are followed by a vehicle with flashing yellow lights. The first runner got to the outskirts of Pahrump about 4:30pm. They are still going past.{9:40pm} I can see the highway about 3/4 of a mile away. If I walk around to the East side of my house I can see them on the horizon running down the freeway 20 miles away. I think every year. I wonder what the passengers think when the airliners fly over. A 40 mile or more line of flashing yellow lights. Hope tomorrow is nice so I can kill more weeds.

Lots of cleaning up stuff and throwing it out, in the garage and garden shed. Line trimmer stopped yesterday, and that turned out to be a seized bearing that melted the plastic housing. Beyond economic repair unfortunately. Ordered another from Amazon.

About to watch the start of the F1 Australian Grand Prix. Go Oscar Piastri :) .
Started watching the race. Le Clerk out in turn 3. Then red flag. Switched over to footy for bounce down.

Another day of printer maintenance. I moved two more printers from my appartment to my farm. Now, I just need to get them tuned back in.

Dug around to figure out why I had no brake lights. 3rd light was working, tail lights were working, bulbs were good. While checking it out, I discovered I had no tag lights, either.

The trailer light kit was the culprit. Maybe was just a connector, but I just went back to factory plugs/wiring and the brake lights are back. Still no tag lights.

The wires on the wedge-base tag bulbs were bent and nowhere near making connections in the sockets. I guess I haven't had tag lights since I got the truck in November.

This last batch may be the tastiest yet. Dark and smooth.

Beautiful!

I got my son to come over and swapped subwoofer amps for me. then got the 4 Cube IKEA unit set down on the floor and the lower one removed (which my wife disassembled and took the dumpster), And then we got the bookcase moved over another inch and a half which allows the closet door to swing open a little father before it hits, allowing me to have more room to get into the closet with my power chair.
My son also removed the back surround speakers which I sold to my friend in Columbus Ohio, but we forgot to disconnect them and have him take him back to Ohio with him. So we also got the 40 ft of cable Which started on the bookcase and down to the audio rack, so all that wiring was able to be removed.

Working on the last phases of the OnShape CAD for the worm drive block from my classic Byers telescope drive. Down to the fiddly bits…needed for design of the new base plate that will adapt it to my equally vintage Cave EQ mount.

Currently at a diner stop on the way home from Union Beach, NJ. Last night, saw my nephew staring (sort of) in his jr. high musical. It was painful. But it was a nice visit with family.

Our car is in need of suspension work (it has an appointment at the car doctor on Wednesday) so we didn't want to take it on the long drive. We rented a car. Much to my surprise, the least expensive option for the weekend ($80/day base) was a Tesla Model 3. So we got the chance to try one of those out. I'm not up to giving a report at the moment; I'll type one up soon for those who are interested.

Made stuffed pepper soup. Partially filled a crack (1" wide) in the driveway with epoxy filled with lampblack. Leftover epoxy from another project, didn't really need it. Figured it'd hold on to the two slabs of asphalt better than commercial crack filler. Maybe I'm wrong.

As long as you got nice fillets, that's all that matters.

I had to replace the batteries in the sensor for the temperature/humidity display I have above the desk. I think I get about 6 months out of them.

Ordered the parts for the RAV4. Let's see if they are right when they arrive.

Borrowed a Subaru Forester (manual) to run some errands. Nice car; I'm suitably impressed (not imprezad). I still like the Brumby better though.

Stayed out of the rain.

That's about it.

It was for out English class, it was supposed to be on the argumentative/research paper we wrote last year, but mine was just research orientated. So I guess my presenting skills wont be criticized too much, hopefully. But I should probably take a public speaking class at some point...
By the way, how did this turn out?

It went OK in my opinion, I stumbled a bunch, and forgot some things, but in the end I ended up getting an A on it, so that was a huge relief. I don't think my judges/graders cared all to much on the presenting part, just the information.

Glad it worked out for you. Also, keep in mind not everyone is a naturally great presenter, and some people never become such. It doesn't diminish their other accomplishments though. One of the very worse talks I have ever seen was given by Barry Sharpless, who is one of only five people to have won the Nobel prize TWICE. The science was great, but the structure of the talk was so bad the he was 30 minutes in, realized that the talk was not the one he intended to give, started digging through his hard drive until he found one he called "close enough" then jumped to the middle and started giving the talk as if we had all just heard the first half and were following along with his now entirely new train of thought. Thing was, the first 30 minutes were so disorganized that it didn't feel all that much a different experience...it must be wild in his head.

got the software disc installed for the a/v to PC adapter so that I can start saving my VHS/Lp's/cassettes to a hard drive. This will likely never be finished.

I had to go to Vegas to the bank and deposit a check. The B of A branch closed here. So if it can't be done online I have to go in. I took some money out of my brokerage account because I wanted to buy some stuff. My first purchase was a new putter. Here is some old guy talk. I remember when putters were about $50. The one I got was $200 on sale. A Ping Anser. There were some putters that were $300 and up. Holy inflation Bat Man. On the way back from Vegas I drove into snow flurries. Saturday and Sunday were 70 and little or no wind. Today made it to 46 with snow above 4000'. I don't know what kind of weather you all are having, but it's been crazy here. Over the weekend was the annual Baker to Las Vegas foot race. There are teams from all over the world that compete. Each runner does one leg. I saw the first guy about 4:30pm and the last guy about 9:30pm. All the runners are police, fire, medical. All first responders. Behind each runner is a vehicle with flashing yellow lights. The line of runners extends for miles. I can see one of the main roads out the window over my garage desk. If I go outside and look to the south east I can see the lights on the horizon. That's about 25 miles away. Every year I think what do the people in airliners think when they look down. A string of yellow lights extending for dozens of miles. The LAPD won this year.

What a crazy year for weather the US has had. I woke up from some more demented, ridiculously aggravating dreams, nothing out of the ordinary for me S.S.D.Y. with my condition I'm always so very tired and feel like I want to go to sleep, but I resist because I know that when I do it's going to just be more of the same disturbing sleep.

Oh fear. I hope whatever treatment and recovery are yet to come go as well as can be hoped.
That was supposed to be "Oh dear...", so I'm glad you're doing and expecting to do well. For me, after losing many family members and friends to various cancers, and thus becoming rather carcinophobic, "Oh fear..." is equally applicable.
