Recovered overnight from yesterday's bad mood. Nightmares evaporate quickly after one wakes, but Monday night I had dreams so vivid and sweet that waking was like falling into a pit and had me in a gloom all day.

I ended a one week course of prednisone this morning, and I think it's been messing with the action of my SSRI.

Been rather exciting around here 😜
I have been killing weeds!
Yes real fun stuff, even had a dream about killing weeds.

What a life I lead :)

I once dreamed I had been shot in the legs (war dreams) and remembered thinking I would never be able to dance again.

Weird. I still remember the dream after all these 50 years later.

Had my HVAC unit repaired, $293 and 2lbs of R22 (?) later it was fixed which is good since today is expected to hit 110°F. Guy was here a total of 30 minutes, he did say the fix was "temporary" with that meaning the life expectancy of the unit is how long I want to continue adding Freon at the rate of $90/lb, hopefully its good for a couple of more years as a $7-10k replacement unit is not in the budget right now.

My wife's grandfather passed away recently at 94 years old, and we were able to have services honoring him today. He lived his life serving the country and our community. He served in the Navy during WWII and then was a career firefighter. He was given a final call and ride with an incredible tribute to his life. He had a long, good life.

Sorry for your & your wife's loss.

So there's a leak? Maybe a refrigerant leak sealer might save you some bucks until you can budget in a replacement.

They dont even try and locate them anymore, hvac guy said the majority of leaks are in the heat exchanger coil in the attic where the unit is. Also not sure if additives are much use in this case anyways, but they might be worth looking into.

Have seen the US Navy funeral detail twice in my life.

That was enough for me.

The Bosun’s whistle AND the fireman‘s bagpipes are brutal.

I don't remember dreams anymore but still carry one from when I was about 10-12 about flying in a plane, rolling inverted and discovering I had not fastened my seatbelt. Funny what you recall.
Re funerals. Did body escort once for someone I knew well. Difficult. Really dislike those ceremonies although they are necessary in most folks opinions.

2 sailors and a chaplain with VFW performed a flag ceremony with a 21 gun salute and taps. The honor guard from the fire department had a piper play, and the procession stopped by the engine house he retired from for his final call and bells.

The traditions are quite touching. I've seen 2 brothers from the fire department buried and that is enough as well.

Yesterday I spent most of my time training, on calls for software demos and helping my son hang his floating shelves.

Day away from rockets but time well spent.

Finalized a design, spit out about 30 dwgs (over this part week) only to be given a dimension I've been asking for since the start of the design process.

0" became .625"

about 10 drawings now need to be revised, as well as the model & such..

My younger daughter works for a small architectural firm and this kind of problem is #2 on her complaint list. #1 is the client who changes his/her mind halfway (or farther) along the project. "I think the front desk and lobby ought to be over here and the elevator there."🤬

That would be neat to do if I had cameras and whatever you need to do that. Right now I don't even have a computer set up. Only this here smartphone.

Fine tuned my hot dog stick in a pencil sharpener for some serious roasting by the fire ring action.

Began sorting through my long-stored model trains and began upgrading them with better couplers, checking weights, etc. In the process, decided that acquiring a drill press for my Dremel tool will make the process much more accurate and repeatable.

But, that got me thinking (and thinking usually gets me in trouble), what sorts of uses does a Dremel drill press have for rocketry?

These were both a couple of days ago, but turned a few of our many, many plums into an upside down cake. Over the weekend, we went camping a bit north of here (coincidentally, right where they're finding murder hornets). Took a nice hike up a hill by one of the local big lakes, proving just how out of shape I am. My wife's great-grandparents homesteaded near where the lake goes behind the hill on teh right side of the frame. After getting back to lake level, we were in the mood to swim.

Today, I'm continuing work on a steel weight estimate for a large boat we're designing. I'm not quite done yet and am nearing two acres each of 1/2" and 3/4" thick plate. The total steel weight is upwards of 6000 tons.

Nice view of the lake. Where do you live?

Is that 2 acres of square footage or some other version like board feet?
